Alan Jones Academy of Music has been an elite program for the development of aspiring jazz artists in the Pacific Northwest for many years. AJAM jam sessions have been a part of Montavilla Jazz Festival since the beginning. Bring your horn and sit in! 

Drummer and composer Chris Lee showcases deep friendships and musical collaborations through his sonic meditation on our lush landscape. His album, Green in Grey, features local jazz elites and several lifelong friends—Dan Balmer (guitar), who Chris has played with since they were teenagers; Greg Goebel (piano); Dave Captein (bass), who was in grade school with Chris; Thomas Barber (trumpet); and John Nastos (woodwinds). These heavyweights will share the essence of the Pacific Northwest during their PJCE Records album release show at the Montavilla Jazz Festival at 10:30 pm on Friday, August 30th, at Beer Brats & Beats.

Long ago I would regularly go social dancing and well... I miss it! So I'm bringing it back, and we are doing it UP! I'll be teaching a beginners salsa lesson for an hour, then we will have open dance afterwards!

No experience needed! Also no partner! With Casino Rueda Salsa, it's a party and you are constantly switching partners! All new comers start at level RED, and you work your way up the rainbow spectrum until you reach the PRISMATIC level. 🕺

We are dancing to classic latin tunes as well as some more recent hip hop jamz, even some EDM flames🔥. Anything is possible dancing with Dj Sm4sh. 🕺💃
